Historic Astoria in living 3D

Astoria was founded in 1811, making it the oldest American settlement west of the Rockies. In 1854, it was chosen as the county seat of Clatsop County (named after the Clatsop tribe). A two-story frame courthouse was completed in 1855, with the second courthouse in 1908. While Astoria is connected to its roots as a Columbia River town, it is also know for its late 1800's Victorians through 1920's Craftsman architecture. Astoria's National Historic Downtown District, built after the 1922 fire, offers a look at its commercial life in the 1920's.
